About Lensi
A crowdsourced price intelligence platform for Kenya
Our Mission
Lensi helps people in Kenya see realistic prices for products and services, grounded in actual purchases and submissions from the community and vendors. We know prices change quickly, so instead of a single "official" figure, we aim to give a clearer picture of the market to support better everyday decisions.
How It Works
Submit Prices
Shoppers and vendors share prices by uploading receipts or submitting them directly in the app. Each submission includes the product, price paid, and location.
Verify & Aggregate
Lensi groups similar submissions and applies a trust score so receipt-backed and vendor data can carry more weight when we estimate price ranges. It is a guide, not a guarantee, and we always recommend confirming prices with the shop.
Discover Prices
Browse current price ranges for popular phones, see how they vary by location and vendor, and use that context to decide where and when to buy.
Why Lensi?
Real prices: Based on actual purchases and vendor submissions, not just advertised "from" prices.
Community-powered: Built by Kenyans, for Kenyans, and guided by the receipts and feedback people choose to share.
Offline support: On supported devices, you can queue submissions when your connection drops; they sync when you reconnect.
Trust-based: A simple scoring system helps surface higher-confidence data, but no price is guaranteed. Lensi is a reference point, not a replacement for your own judgement.
Our Vision
Our vision is a Kenya where everyday prices are easier to understand and compare, whether you're buying a phone in town or shopping in your local market. Over time, we want Lensi to grow into a trusted, Kenyan-first reference for everyday prices – honest about its limits, transparent about how data is collected, and shaped by the people who use it.
