Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Lensi, a crowdsourced price intelligence platform. By accessing or using Lensi, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Lensi, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these terms
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • All information you provide is accurate and truthful

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Creation

  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You must not share your account credentials
  • One person may only create one account

2.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

3. User Content and Submissions

3.1 Price Submissions

When submitting price information, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Submit only prices you have personally verified or paid
  • Include supporting documentation (receipts) when available
  • Not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent data
  • Not manipulate prices to benefit any vendor or harm competitors

3.2 Content License

By submitting content to Lensi, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your submissions for the purpose of operating and improving the platform. This includes aggregating price data and displaying it to other users.

3.3 Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you submit. However, aggregated and anonymized data becomes part of our database and may continue to be used even after account deletion.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent price information
  • Create multiple accounts to manipulate trust scores or data
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or compromise platform security
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or vendors
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Spam or post irrelevant content
  • Interfere with platform operations or other users

5. Trust Score System

Lensi uses a trust score system to validate data quality and identify reliable contributors. Trust scores are calculated based on submission accuracy, consistency, and other factors.

  • Trust scores affect the visibility and weight of your submissions
  • Low trust scores may result in additional verification requirements
  • Persistent low scores or fraudulent activity may lead to account suspension
  • Trust score calculations are proprietary and may change over time

6. Vendor Accounts

Verified vendors have additional rights and responsibilities:

  • Must provide accurate business information for verification
  • Must keep price listings current and accurate
  • May not manipulate prices or engage in anti-competitive practices
  • Must respond to customer inquiries in good faith
  • Verification status may be revoked for violations

7. Disclaimers

7.1 Price Accuracy

Lensi is a crowdsourced platform. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all prices are current, complete, or error-free. Prices may change without notice. Always verify prices directly with vendors before making purchases.

7.2 Platform Availability

We provide Lensi on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

7.3 No Warranty

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LENSI IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LENSI AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from reliance on platform information
  • User-generated content or submissions
  • Unauthorized access or data breaches beyond our control

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (if any).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lensi, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your submissions, or your violation of these terms.

10. Intellectual Property

Lensi and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Lensi and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our platform without permission.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Lensi shall be governed by the laws of Kenya. Both parties agree to first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal action.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
